It’s just really funny to me how some people who were so important to me a little less than a year ago aren’t really a priority for me anymore. I’m glad that crazy-makers aren’t getting to me as much as they used to.

Today was one of those life changing days.
I can’t believe how much happened today. I’m feeling so inspired by everyone at Florida State. I have a research position, I’ll be teaching a class next semester, I have a major that I am so absolutely passionate about, and I’m going to be coordinating such an amazing program with an office staff that is so amazing. Words cannot describe how absolutely honored I am to be given these opportunities.
What if one day instead of people having sex on mattresses, mattresses had sex on people?
so every year after the juniors finish reading The Great Gatsby my high school english teacher throws a Gatsby party at his huge house and everyone shows up in period clothing and Charlestons to 20s music and my english teacher just wears a suit and stands off to the side staring wistfully out the window the entire night

I’m looking at pictures of people I went to high school with and I don’t even know how I survived living in my hometown. It’s just a vat of people with no opportunities or direction in life and it literally sucks the life out of you.
I’m just thankful for where I am right now. Physically, mentally, emotionally, academically. I feel at home and I feel like I’m doing the things that I should be doing. My major is on track, I’m always happy, and I’m generally interested in investing in relationships with people now. I’m thankful because it won’t last forever and I’m appreciating what I have for the moment.
